Charles XV King of Sweden was born May 3, 1826 in Stockholm, Sweden. He was the son of Oscar I King of Sweden and Josephine de Beauharnais. He married Louise, daughter of Frederik of Netherlands Prince and Louisa of Prussia, in 1850. He died on August 19, 1872 in Malmo at age 46. He was buried in Stockholm.
