Oscar I King of Sweden was born July 4, 1799 in Paris, France. He was the son of Charles XIV John King of Sweden and Desiree. He married Josephine de Beauharnais, daughter of Eugene of Leuchtenberg de Beauharnais Duke and Augusta of Bavaria, on June 19, 1823 in Stockholm, Sweden. He died on March 8, 1844 in Stockholm at age 44. He was buried in Stockholm.
