Augusta of Saxe-Gotha was born November 30, 1719 in Gotha. She was the daughter of Frederick II of Saxe-Gotha Duke and Magdalena Augusta of Anhalt-Zerbst. She married Frederick Louis Prince of Wales, son of George II King of England and Caroline of Ansbach, on May 8, 1736 in Chapel Royal, St. James. She died on February 8, 1772 in Carlton House at age 52.
