Sophia was born July 9, 1836 in Biebrich. She was the daughter of Wilhelm of Nassau Duke. She married Oscar II King of Sweden, son of Oscar I King of Sweden and Josephine de Beauharnais, on June 6, 1857 in Biebrich. She died on December 30, 1913 in Stockholm, Sweden, at age 77.
