Sir John Savage was born 1422 in Clifton, Cheshire, England. He was the son of Sir John Savage of Clifton and Elizabeth Brereton. He married Katherine Stanley, daughter of Thomas Stanley 1st Baron of Stanley and Joan Goushill, in 1447 in Clifton, Cheshire.2 He died on November 22, 1495 in Macclesfield Park, England.
