John of Gaunt Duke of Lancast. was born March, 1340 in Ghent. He was the son of Edward III King of England and Philippa of Hainault. He married Blanche of Lancaster, daughter of Henry Duke Lancaster I and Isabel de Beaumont, on May 13, 1359 in Reading. He married Constanza (Constance) Queen of Castile, daughter of Pedro III of Castile King, in September, 1371 in Roquefort. He married Catherine Swynford Roet, daughter of Payne of Guienne Roet Sir, on January 13, 1396 in Lincoln. He died on February 3, 1399 in Leicester Castle at age 58.
