Stephen King of England was born about 1096 in Blois, France. He was the son of Stephen II Count of Blois and Adela of Normandy. He married Matilda I of Boulogne, daughter of Eustace III of Boulogne Count and Mary of Scotland, in 1125 in Westminster, England. He died on October 25, 1154 in Dover Castle. He was buried in Faversham Abbey.

He was the last Norman King of England. He reigned from 1135 to 1154 and was succeeded by his rival's son Henry II, the first of the Angevin or Plantagenet kings. Stephen was also the Count of Boulogne jure uxoris.
