Philip II King of Spain was born May 21, 1527 in Valladolid. He was the son of Charles V Holy Roman Emperor and Isabella of Portugal. He married Maria of Portugal in 1543. He married Mary I Queen of England, daughter of Henry VIII King of England and Catherine of Aragon, on July 25, 1554 in Winchester, Cathedral, England. He married Anne of Austria, daughter of Maximilian II Holy Roman Emperor and Maria of Spain, in 1570. He died on September 13, 1598 in El Escorial, Palace, Madrid, Spain, at age 71.
