Alfred Ernest Albert Prince was born August 6, 1844 in Windsor Castle, Berkshire, England. He was the son of Albert Augustus Charles Prince and Victoria Queen of England. He married Marie Alexandrovna Grand Duchess, daughter of Alexander II Nicholoevich Tsar of Russia and Marie of Hesse- Darmstadt, on January 23, 1874 in Winter Palace, St. Petersburg, Russia. He died on July 30, 1900 in Schloss Rosenau, Near Coburg, at age 55.
