Leopold I Holy Roman Emperor was born 1640 in Vienna, Austria. He was the son of Ferdinand III Holy Roman Emperor and Maria Anna of Spain. He married Margaret Teresa of Spain, daughter of Philip IV King of Spain and Mariana of Austria. He married Eleanor Magdelena of Neuburg. He died on May 5, 1705.
He was a claimant to the throne of Spain prior to the War of Spanish Succession.
