�����Alexis I Comnenus Emperor of Byzantium was born 1048. He was the son of John Comnenus and Anna Dalassena. He married Eirene Doukaina, daughter of Andronikas Doukas and Maria Troiane. He died on August 15, 1118.
����� Alexis I Comnenus Emperor of Byzantium was also known as Alexios I Komenos. He was Byzantine Emperor from 1081 to 1118. In March 1095, Alexius I sent envoys to the Council of Piacenza to ask Pope Urban II for aid against the Seljuk Turks of Anatolia. This, effectively, was the start of the First Crusade (1096 to 1099).
