�����Baldwin II Count of Flanders was born 865. He was the son of Baldwin I Count of Flanders and Princess Judith of Flanders. He married Aelfthryth (Elfrida), daughter of Alfred the Great King West Saxons and Ealhswith. He died in 918.
�����Baldwin II (865-918) was a great grandson of Louis the pious and an ancestor of both Anna and Catherine. Baldwin was a son of Princess Judith of Flanders, a granddaughter of Louis the Pious and her third husband, Baldwin I, count of Flanders. Judith's father was Charles the Bald, son of Louis the Pious and was King of West Francia.1 Baldwin II became count of Flanders upon the death of his father. He married Aelfthryth (Elfrida), daughter of Alfred the Great, king of Wessex, in 884. In 934, their son Arnulf I of Flanders, married Adele of Vermandois, the daughter of Herbert II of Vermandois and Adele (Liegarde) of France. In other words, the son of Baldwin II married the granddaughter of the man whom his father had assassinated 32 years earlier.1
