�����Thomas Hopton was a lineal male heir of Walter de Hopton who was of Hopton Castle and Sheriff of Shropshire in 1268. In 1275, Walter de Hopton was Baron of the Exchequer.1 He was Sheriff of Shropshire in 1430.1
