Charles Dobbs was born on May 3, 1794 in Anderson Co., South Pendleton District, South Carolina.1 He was the son of Lodowick Dobbs and Sarah Adams. He married Catherine 'Kitty' Cockerham on February 24, 1814 in Hot Springs, Garland County, Arkansas.1 He died in 1840 in Union County, Mississippi.1

He was named an heir in the will of Lodowick Dobbs dated May 13, 1814 in Pendleton District (Anderson Co.), South Carolina.2
